The eastern Iowa town of Solon is considering buying a funeral home and converting it into its first-ever city hall as the town's population grows and space becomes limited.
The city's offices are currently spread out across town, and there are
no official council chambers.
City Administrator Cassandra Lippincott says meetings are held at the library. And the closest thing to a city hall is the city office, where there's only enough room for two people inside.
The city is looking at buying a chapel, which has a funeral home on the upper level and a community center on the lower level.
The council will put the issue up for a vote in November.
