The Nebraska State Patrol is boosting its enforcement efforts on Saturday nights this summer.

During beefed-up patrols on July 24 near North Platte, troopers arrested eight people for alleged drunk driving, ticketed two
juveniles for illegally possessing alcohol and wrote more than 130
tickets and warnings for speeding.

More of the special enforcement activities will be held throughout July and August.

On Saturday, one will be conducted near Lincoln. The following weekend, they will be held near Grand Island and Scottsbluff.

On Aug. 21, the special enforcemnent efforts will be near Omaha and North Platte, and on August 28, near Norfolk and Lincoln.
