Police Have Advice For Burglary Victims
In the winter it's your snowblower but in the hot summer months, thieves are after your lawnmower and there's a good chance you'll have no way to get it back. Omaha Police gave one recent victim a tip.
"Don't just buy new equipment and put it back in the same shed without beefing up your security and writing down your serial numbers," shared the Florence resident who asked us not to use her name.
Like so many homeowners she never bothered to write down the serial numbers on her lawnmower, chainsaw and other expensive items that were stolen in last week's burglary. Without regestering those numbers there is little chance of recovering the stolen property.
