A 47-year-old Omaha man is in police custody after being caught inside a grocery store, in the middle of the night, drinking a beer.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at the KNJ Grocery near 33rd and California.

A witness reported David Holmes broke out a window and went inside the store. When officers arrived, they say Holmes was drinking a beer.

A K-9 officer assisted in a search of the building for the suspect. He was located hiding from officers behind the coolers.

Holmes was arrested for for possession of burglary tools, burglary and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a shoplifting charge.
