Holiday weekend was busy for law enforcement and volunteer fire departments. The initial summary of incident reports from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Plattsmouth Police Department indicate no major law enforcement, fire or rescue events.

The Cassgram reports two possible injury accident reports were received. One involved a car-deer collision on Interstate 80 (Ashland Rescue responded) and the other was at Highway 34 and 340th Street (Elmwood Rescue responded.)

Fire departments from Murdock, Elmwood, Weeping Water, Manley and Avoca responded to a series of field fires Saturday afternoon.

The reports show one driving under the influence arrest, two assault incidents and three theft/criminal mischief incidents.
