As Nebraskans head to the state's waterways for fishing and water sports, they're being cautioned to be safe and responsible boaters.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers these boating
tips:
- Avoid alcohol while operating a motorized boat.
- Wear a life jacket.
- Have required safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and
bailing devices, on board.
- Be cautious of your surroundings and look out for other boats, swimmers and hazards in the water.
- Take a boating safety course.
