Some unusual performers are taking center stage at the Chanticleer Theater in Council Bluffs.
Bats have invaded the building. Manager Bob Putman says they tend to come down during performances.
Putman says while he has never seen more than seven bats flying around the theater at one time, there could up to 1,000 nesting inside the walls.
On Tuesday, three bat houses were installed on posts behind the theater, with plans for a fourth one on the side of the building later.
Putman says since bats are known to squeeze together when just hanging around. Each of the houses, which have four chambers, could hold up to 1,500 bats.
