Clifford Hardin, who served as secretary of agriculture and chancellor of the University of Nebraska died Sunday at the age of 94.
Hardin was appointed chancellor in 1954 at age 38, making him the youngest university president in the country. He remained in Lincoln until 1969.
Hardin then served as ag secretary under President Richard Nixon from 1969-1971, a tenure that included passage of the 1970 Farm Bill.
