In February Channel 6 News reported on Army veteran Jacqui Spillane. She was being honored as a hero by Omaha’s Veteran’s Hospital. Spillane told Channel 6 News, while serving in Iraq, she had received a purple heart.
We have since learned from Army Affairs at the Pentagon, that Spillane's military record does not indicate she received a purple heart.
Channel 6 News contacted Spillane today. She stands by her claim, saying her purple heart is with her ex-husband in another state.
