Nebraskans who are receiving unemployment benefits can now apply for extended benefits online.
Nebraska Department of Labor officials say their computer system has been updated to allow for the online applications.
The state notified about 13,000 people in December that they might be eligible for the latest extension in unemployment benefits.
Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang says having the online system set up to handle extensions may free up the phone lines for other questions about unemployment benefits.
The application for extended benefits can be found online in the "For Workers" section of www.dol.nebraska.gov.
