"There's good days. There's bad days."

That's what Melissa Dinges says about her sister's death. It's been just 70-days since Angelina Bandino died senselessly.

"I think we are trying to cope and deal with it."

She remembers November 17th, 2009 when her brother called her from California hysterical.

He told Dinges that her sister died in California after a truck slammed in to her.

But it wasn't just any car accident.

Dinges says an 18-year-old woman got behind the wheel and focused on her phone instead of what was happening around her.

"She was texting, and veered off to the right side of the road where (my sister was) walking."

The accident happened just days before Angelina Bandino was to move to Shenandoah, Iowa, to live with her sister.

Nebraska has a bill moving through Unicam where it would join 19 other states which prohibit the activity.

Dinges says texting is the equivalent of having a .08 blood alcohol level.

Tuesday, the Federal Transportation Department also issued an immediate mandate on truckers and bus drivers prohibiting them from texting while driving.
