Nebraska state health officials say they've received 134 complaints alleging violations of the state's smoking ban that took effect last June.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services says most of the complaints came from outside Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island and Humboldt, where smoking bans were previously in effect.
The law, which took effect June 1st, bans smoking in all public indoor areas and private businesses, including restaurants and bars. It makes some exceptions, including for cigar bars and some hotel rooms.
An Omaha pool hall owner argues the exceptions make the ban unconstitutional. Will Prout, owner of Big John's Billiards, has a pending lawsuit against the state.
In June, a Lancaster County district judge denied Prout's initial request to stop the law from taking effect.
