More than $2.3 million in federal stimulus money is heading to Lincoln for job training.

The money comes from the U.S. Department of Labor's Pathways Out
of Poverty program.

U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson announced the grant on Wednesday. The
Nebraska Democrat says Southeast Community College and the Center
for People in Need will partner with other Lincoln-area organizations to implement the training program.

The program will be executed in the newly expanded Center for People in Need facility, a project made possible by federal funds that Nelson helped secure.

Southeast Community College will provide energy-efficient construction training, wraparound support services and job placement to participants in the training.
