A cracked tree limb took down a power line Thursday morning, briefly knocking out electricity in parts of west Omaha.
The Omaha Public Power District says the area affected by the outage was along Blondo Street, between 151st and 163rd. Traffic signals were out in the area.
OPPD crews cut away the tree debris to get to the power line for repairs.
Approximately 1,950 OPPD customers were affected by this incident. Power was quickly restored.
More than 3,000 Iowa customers were without power, mostly in Council Bluffs and Sioux City. The storm has caused power outages as lines break under the weight of ice and wind.
