Omaha Police are investigating a man's death, after he fell from the sixth floor of the Jackson Tower Apartments Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the complex at 2:13 p.m. for the report of a man hanging from a window. When they arrived on scene, they didn't see anyone outside the window, but were told of a disturbance inside an apartment.

The Jackson Towers are located at 27th and Jackson Streets.

As officers entered the apartment, they saw a man go out the window. Police were not able to stop him.

At this time, investigators are trying to determine if the man jumped or fell. Witnesses on the scene say they heard the man throwing clothes and other belongings out of the window before he fell out.

The man has been identified as 31-year-old Shane Niesen.

He landed on a car below, and was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition. There, Niesen was pronounced dead.
