Pastor Bob Timberlake, a man who ministered to the poor and homeless for 40 years, died Friday, less than three months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Pastor Bob was the former president of the Open Door Mission.

We last caught up with him in March when he announced the Pastor Bob Memorial Fund, urging donation to help the Open Door Mission continue its work. You can do that online at the mission's Web site.

The public is invited to celebrate the life of Pastor Bob at a memorial service on Monday at 1 p.m. in Omaha's Westside Church.
