Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Wednesday a 15-year-old boy who shot at an Omaha Police officer during a traffic stop last Friday will be charged as an adult, accused of attempted second-degree murder.

Cameron Williams of Bellevue also faces weapon and drug charges for possession of marijuana and Ecstasy. The case will move forward when he is released from the hospital.

Police say Williams fired twice at Officer Josiah Warren before Warren fired back five times, hitting Williams in the chest. Williams was in a car with two men that was stopped near 84th and G streets for having expired license plates. Williams ran from the car, then opened fire.

The two men, 20-year-old Charles Thompson of Omaha and 22-year-old Richard Holmes of Bellevue, were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Holmes was also booked for providing false information, obstructing and several misdemeanor warrants. Thompson, the owner of the car, was booked for no insurance or registration and a bond review.
