A Lincoln woman has been ticketed for leaving her 15-year-old daughter stranded on Interstate 80 -- allegedly for a playing poorly in soccer game.
Lincoln Police say 42 year old Terrell Mackey was angry at her daughter because of the way the girl had played.
Investigators say that Mackey began hitting her daughter while driving. They say the mother eventually pulled over on the interstate and when the girl got, Mackey drove off.
Some friends and their parents picked up the teenager.
Terrell Mackey has been ticketed for misdemeanor child neglect.
For many in Omaha, the story has a familiar ring to it.
In November 2006, Patrick Krause was fined 750 dollars for hitting his son.
Court documents state Krause hit his then nine-year-old son four times because the boy struck out twice during a baseball game.
Channel 6 News spoke to an expert from the Child Saving Institute at the time of Krause's court case.
Jill Ramet said parents have to set realistic goals, ones in line with their child's abilities.
The misdemeanor child neglect charge which Mackey faces is punishable by up to three months in jail and a $500 fine.
