A child pornography suspect died Sunday morning while in custody at Douglas County Corrections.

Officers found 58-year-old Richard Davis of Omaha unresponsive in his cell at 7:42 a.m. Medical staff responded and a rescue squad was called, but Davis was pronounced dead at 8:06 a.m.

Davis was charged with pornography and possession of child pornography in January. He was being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is required by state law to conduct an investigation into the death.
