A road rage incident is blamed for sending two men to the hospital with gunshot wounds Saturday night.

Police and rescue crews located the victims near 72nd and Pine streets behind the Wal-Mart store around 9:15 p.m.

Twenty-six-year-old Thovany Mendoza and 22-year-old Jonathon Cambero told officers they were driving southbound on 72nd Street when one of three people in a white, four-door vehicle started shooting at them.

Mendoza and Cambero were taken to Creighton University Medical Center with injuries not considered life threatening.

Police shut down southbound 72nd Street south of Pacific for a time.
