An Omaha firefighter has been banned from city facilities including firehouses.

John Gruttemeyer is a captain who is on unrelated medical leave. Channel 6 News has learned he's being investigated for making an alleged threat against Fire Chief Mike McDonnell.

Gruttemeyer was in the news last month pushing for other organizations to get on-board and ask Omaha firefighters to help in raising money after the city council agreed to keep the boot drives on the books.

For years, the Omaha Fire Department has raised money that way for Muscular Dystrophy.
