Plattsmouth voting on sales tax increase by mail.
The Cassgram reports the ballots containing Proposition 1 and Proposition 2 must be received by 5pm on November 10th. Ballots can either be mailed or hand delivered to the Cass County Election Commissioner Office in the Annex Building north of the courthouse.
Election Commissioner Nancy Josoff says many of the ballots received in the last few days have been walked in to her office. She says the return pace has been somewhat slower than she expected, especially when compared to the Louisville school bond issue this past September which was also a mail-in election.
Based on questions she’s received, Josoff wants to make it clear the polling places will not be open on November 10th and that the “privacy of all ballots will be maintained.” She’s heard concerns about confidentiality and assures the public there is a privacy procedure in place for mail-in elections and has even invited those with concerns to come to her office to witness it firsthand.
