Authorities continue the search for two men who held up a TierOne Bank branch in Lincoln this week. Security cameras captured them robbing the bank.
Two men entered the bank at 3939 Normal in Lincoln. One displayed a weapon.
Lincoln's Assistant Police Chief, Jim Peshong says, "It appears as though there was some planning in this particular robbery because the car had been stolen, as we understand it."
The stolen getaway car was a 1995 Oldsmobile. It was stolen from Omaha and abandoned shortly after the robbery at TierOne.
No one has made a connection between this robbery and recent bank robberies in Omaha but there are similarities.
This surveillance photo was taken during a robbery at the Bank of the West branch at Saddle Creek and Farnam in Omaha on March 7.
Omaha police are looking for two men they believe might be responsible for six recent bank robberies. The cases involve masked men and stolen getaway vehicles abandoned shortly after the robberies.
Joni Sundquist with the Nebraska Bankers Association says, "It's very frustrating for the bankers right now and they want to see these criminals put behind bars as bad as the law enforcement officials do."
Rewards are being offered as incentives for information about the robbers.
