Some Creighton University students had a chance Tuesday to see how quickly a fire can spread. Firefighters intentionally set a fire to show how important it is to leave quickly when a fire alarm goes off.

A mock dorm room was set up on a campus parking lot and set on fire. A group of students watched as the entire room was engulfed in a matter of minutes. Everything in the room was destroyed after seven minutes when firefighters put out the blaze.

School officials want these students take what they learned and share it with others.
