The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
Busy highway 75 was shut down for about 40 minutes Tuesday evening after a two-vehicle accident at the 1st Avenue intersection according to the Cassgram.
A 1997 Chevy Lumina driven by 41-year-old Tena Chappell of Nehawka collided with a 2006 Chevy Uplander driven by 52-year-old Daniel Patton of Nebraska City, said Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann. The Uplander rolled and Patton and a passenger, 44-year-old Daniel Heng of Nebraska City, were taken to Midlands Hospital by AMR ambulance with what were described as minor injuries.
Chappell was cited for failure to yield, said the report.
Plattsmouth Police and Plattsmouth Fire responded along with the sheriff’s deputies.
