Threats On Cops

Truck driver enters pleas.

32 days after his arrest in Cass County, 62-year-old Dennis E. Myers pleaded guilty to one count of terroristic threats and no contest to one count of refusal to submit to a chemical test.

As previously reported in Cassgram, the Nebraska State Patrol arrested Myers at the I-80 weigh scales on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance: hydrocodone. The arresting troopers said Myers threatened them during the arrest and then the next day a Cass County jail deputy said Myers threatened her in the hallway outside a Cass County courtroom.

Myers had been charged with two counts of terroristic threats. However, one of those counts was dropped along with the drug charge as part of a plea agreement.

Myers faces up to five years in prison on the conviction stemming from the statements he made in the courthouse. Chief Deputy Cass County Attorney Colin Palm said Myers told the jail deputy, “All you guys are going to be sorry—anybody in uniform …I won’t attack you now. I will when I get out.”
