A short pursuit about 3:30 in the morning Wednesday ended with two individuals from Omaha taken into custody.
The Cassgram reports that Cass County Sheriff’s Department reports say a deputy attempted to pull over a northbound vehicle for speeding on Highway 75 near Club View Drive. The driver did not stop and accelerated.
The deputy witnessed items being thrown out the window as it was speeding up. The vehicle stopped near the Bay Road intersection. There were two occupants. One had a felony arrest warrant against him from another jurisdiction.
Further investigation revealed the items believed thrown from the vehicle included a box of checks apparently stolen from a mailbox at Beaver Lake.
Reports have been forwarded to the county attorney to determine charges.
