The Nebraska State Patrol says Interstate 80 west of Big Springs remains closed Monday morning due to hazardous driving conditions there.
A wintry storm brought snow and gusty winds swept into the area yesterday.
Unofficial snowfall estimates indicate upwards of eight inches of snow had fallen in the southern Panhandle.
Most schools in that region were closed this morning with winds gusting to the 35 to 40 mile per hour range causing difficult driving.
