Production for a movie being filmed in Council Bluffs last week has moved across the river. The film crew has moved into a house in the Regency neighborhood.
“Lucky” is the name of the movie due out next year. On the Internet Movie Data Base it is listed as a comedy starring Colin Hanks, Ari Graynor and Ann-Margret. IMDB describes the plot as “a wannabe serial killer wins the lottery and pursues his lifelong crush.”
A fleet of trucks and equipment are parked around Becki Carter’s house, where the movie is being filmed. The street is down to one lane and access to the area is limited.
Carter says her house is for sale and the producer’s of the movie found the listing for it on the internet. She says it’s exciting to see her house transformed into a movie set.
She says the crew has been very accommodating to her and her family. "I actually forgot some things that I was supposed to bring with me to the hotel,” Carter said. “So we came in and took care of that, and took care of some other things that they wanted us to do. And we got to see some of the filming. We have to stay very far away and be very quiet. But it's just a very different experience."
She and her family are living in a hotel until filming is completed. She doesn’t know how long that will be.
