School District Wants Opinions on New Superintentent

Six public forums have been scheduled this fall for members of the public to comment on the search for a new superintendent of Lincoln Public Schools.

The forums will be held at the six LPS high schools throughout Lincoln, scheduled over several weeks late in September and early in October.

The public is invited to attend, and offer opinions on the characteristics and qualities they would like to see considered for a new superintendent.

LPS Superintendent Susan Gourley has announced plans to retire at the end of the 2009-10 school year.

All six forums are set for 7:30 p.m.:
•Sept. 29 Lincoln High School, 2229 J St.
•Sept. 30 Lincoln Southwest High School, 7001 S. 14th St.
•Oct. 1 Lincoln Northeast High School, 2635 N. 63rd St.
•Oct. 6 Lincoln East High School, 1000 S. 70th St.
•Oct. 12 Lincoln North Star High School, 5801 N. 33rd St.
•Oct. 14 Lincoln Southeast High School, 2930 S. 37th St.
