A 5th member of the Omaha Police Department has been impacted by the internal investigation into a rough arrest March 21st which was captured on video.
Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer announced Monday that a command officer has now been placed on administrative leave as the investigation moves forward.
The announcement follows one over the weekend when the department reported that another officer had been placed on administrative leave.
So far, two officers have been reassigned, two other officers are on paid administrative leave, and one command officer is now on paid administrative leave for a total of five.
The incident took place March 21 during what started out as a neighborhood parking enforcement.
In Monday's release Chief Schmaderer again makes it clear he will have a news conference to discuss the results of the investigation when it's finished, but he's asking for the public's patience as that process moves forward. No timetable for completion of the investigation has been set.
