A celebration of cultures is set for Sept. 17, when the state will mark World Day on the Mall.
The event on Lincoln's Centennial Mall will gather organizations from across the state to celebrate the diversity of cultures in Nebraska and honor the contributions of state employees.
Educational presentations, ethnic food and entertainment are planned.
Organizers say their mission is to increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of individuals of all cultures and the global issues that unite them.
They also strive to honor the diversity and talent of state employees and show how those talents are used to help state residents.
