More Nebraska children may be eligible for Medicaid under the state's new income requirements.
Beginning this month, children whose family incomes do not exceed 200 percent of the federal poverty level -- $3,676 a month for a family of four -- could get Medicaid.
The previous income threshold was 185 percent of the poverty level.
The state Department of Health and Human Services says about 23,500 children get Medicaid benefits each month.
It expects the change could make Medicaid available for another 5,000 children.
