Lincoln Man Wins Lottery For Bighorn Hunt

A Lincoln man has won the right to go hunting for a bighorn sheep late this fall in the Pine Ridge area of the Nebraska Panhandle.

Brent Bollwitt was one of 1,547 people who paid a $25 fee to enter a lottery for the single permit. The fee money is used for the Nebraska bighorn sheep management program.

Last year, 1,357 entered the lottery.

The 41-year-old Bollwitt is a member of the Nebraska Air National Guard.

His permit is valid for a specific area of the Pine Ridge, Dec. 1-22.

The lottery was open only to state residents who would be at least 12 years old by Dec. 1.
