Recovery crews have located the body of 23-year-old Ammon Witters.
Witters' body was found in Beaver Lake, 200 feet from the south shore about 35 feet down around 2:50 p.m. Thursday.
The Cass County sheriff says they have made positive identification of the body and it is Ammon Witters. They also said there were signs of trauma, possibly from the boat's propeller.
Several Iowa agencies assisted today in the search, including Clarinda fire, Red Oak, Mt. Ayers and Adams county EMS.
Witters was thrown overboard when the boat he was in made a sharp turn Monday night. Witnesses said he was then struck by the boat.
The driver of the boat was not intoxicated and there have been no arrests or citations.
Portions of the lake located just south of Plattsmouth, have been closed since the accident as rescue and recovery crews searched for the Papillion man.
Friend Mandy Condrey described Witters as a fun-loving person. "He's just a good person. You would never meet anybody like him - ever."
Another friend, Angie Larchik added, "(He) always liked to joke, have fun, make people happy."
They told Channel 6 News Witters loved the local music scene and attending concerts.
"It still hasn't hit me yet. I'm kind of hoping that they'll find him playing on the beach or something," said friend David Taylor.
Condrey added, "It's hard dealing with it, waiting for an answer, hoping for hope."
