Poker Runs Popular

Two poker runs, a benefit concert and a car show’n’shine went over big in the county.

The Cassgram reports over 350 motorcycles were registered for the poker runs.
---The Louisville 6/20 benefit fund ride had almost 250 riders and was a “huge success!” reports Mandi Chubb.

Approximately 300 poker hands were sold. Both the silent auction and raffles held at Good Times at the conclusion of the run were very successful as well, she says.

---The Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department’s poker run had 108 register for the 190-mile route. The weather really cooperated; “It was a beautiful day to ride,” said Craig Shrimpton of the PVFD.
The event has grown each year. There were 78 riders the first year and just under 100 last year. Shrimpton says plans are already gearing up for next year,
---Saturday night’s Louisville 6/20 fund benefit concert in Louisville was well received by families, teens and generous motorcycle enthusiasts, according to Jeanne Anderson. Over 600 people were served food until 11:30pm. She says the five bands were met with applause and great audience participation. “It was an energetic and positive way to remember the Matchus brothers and give strength and well wishes to the other four accident victims who continue to recover. Thanks to the many people who volunteered their time and talents, “says Anderson.

---The Last Hot Sunday in July auto/truck show in Louisville kept its momentum of growth. This year the event attracted 175 vehicles, up from 133 last year.

“It was an awesome day—a great turnout!” says Dee Arias.
The organizers thank everyone who helped with the show.
