An Omaha woman was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the death of her 12-year-old son.

Forty-six-year-old Angela Manns is accused of killing Michael Belitz, whose body was found inside their 28th Avenue and Ida Street home on Sunday.

Police were called to check on the well-being of a mother and son. Inside, they found a decomposing body. Neighbors tell Channel 6 News Belitz lived at the home with his mother, but they had not seen him for several weeks.

Manns is due to make her first appearance in Douglas County Court on Thursday afternoon.
