Harry Potter mania is sweeping the Metro area. The midnight opening of the sixth movie in the beloved and much anticipated series completely sold out one local theater.

"We've never seen anything like this," said Tom Mathley, General Manager at Rave in Motion Theaters at Westroads Mall.

The first five movies in The Harry Potter series grossed over $1 billion in the U.S. alone. The sixth, "Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince," is sure to add to that total.

One fan, Payton Talmadge, told Channel 6, "the movie was really good, but sadly they just leave you hanging so much."

And that will only keep fans more eager for the next two films. "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows," the last novel in the series will be split into two major motion pictures. The first in the installment is expected to hit theaters November 2010.

Other fans weighed in saying, I loved it, I loved it," and "I just wish it would've conveyed a little bit more the book than it did."

But, the sold out theaters spoke volumes about the draw this whimsical series has on both young people and adults alike.
