When it comes to the best small towns in the U.S. to live, CNN Money ranks Papillion at number three. The Omaha suburb was bested only by Louisville, Colorado and Chanhassen, Minnesota.
CNN Money says it's rare for a town to rack up great scores in both economic performance and housing affordability. The May jobless rate in Papillion was 4.5 percent, less than half the national average. Money magazine credits the diverse employers in the area, including TD Ameritrade, Union Pacific, InfoUSA and Mutual of Omaha.
Papillion also earned high marks for open space, few traffic jams and its low crime rate. The median family income is $93,612 with the median price of a home listed at $155,500.
The population in Papillion is 22,200. Norfolk and Columbus in Nebraska were also included in the list of the top 100 small towns. Click here for the entire rankings.
