Identity theft victims are not just individuals. A Ralston company had its name and reputation hijacked.
The owner of I-Spy Mystery Shoppers Cory Jensen says, “They’ve hijacked our identity to rip people off.”
The scammers use his company’s good reputation and Better Business Bureau accreditation to convince victims that cashing a check and wiring them money is part of the secret shopper job description. The checks are bogus.
Mary who works as a mystery shopper for I-Spy says, “It gives a legitimate, honest mystery shopper business a bad name.
The owner of I-Spy Jensen, says he’s getting three calls a day from people asking if the check sent to them is good. He tells them no.
Jensen says at least four have cashed the checks and those people thinking they had a part time job will be liable for money wired to the scammers.
That’s why he’s posted a warning on his website.
