Authorities say a 26-year-old man from David City has died of injuries suffered in an accident while riding an all-terrain vehicle last weekend in south central Nebraska.

Harlan County Attorney Bryan McQuay said in a news release Friday that Jonathan Moravec had been injured on July Fourth. The release did not say when or where Moravec died. A call to McQuay's office was not immediately returned Friday.

Authorities say Moravec was with a friend on the ATV Saturday on a trail south of Republican City. Moravec lost control and was thrown off the ATV, suffering severe head injuries. His friend was not hurt.

Moravec was flown to a Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
