11 days after a 19-year-old UNL student went missing in the Missouri River, the search is being called off.

The Burt County Sheriff's Department says Chris Dedinsky and some friends were hanging out on a sandbar just south of Decatur on June 27th. Witnesses say Dedinsky jumped from the sandbar into the water, but never resurfaced.

Rescue crews from Iowa and Nebraska have combed the Missouri River. K-9 teams were also brought it, but officials say they have found no sign of the Omaha teenager.

Deputies say a later search will be conducted once the water level drops in the river.
