Monday marked the fifth anniversary of the disappearance of Ann Marie Riekenberg Kelley. The Filley, Nebraska woman was last seen leaving a grocery store in Beatrice on April 15, 2008.
Neither Kelley nor her van was ever seen again. She was driving a dark gray wood panel 1991 Plymouth Voyager minivan with Nebraska license plate 3-A8045. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Gage County Sheriff at 402-223-5222 ext. 207 or Beatrice Crime Stoppers at 402-228-4343.
In the summer of 2009, Kelley’s husband William Kelley, Junior was sent to prison for 20 years for unrelated child abuse and weapons charges. After he went to prison, he went to court seeking the return of items seized as evidence in his wife’s disappearance.
In February 2010, the case was updated as being a homicide investigation.
On Monday, Gage County Attorney Roger Harris told Channel 6 News that the case remains active and that deputies are working to solve it. He said it is imperative that answers be found for both Kelley’s family and the community.
