A Cedar Rapids, Iowa man on probation for drug charges has pleaded guilty to federal gun charges after his probation officer spotted him on the social networking site MySpace holding guns.
Twenty-nine-year-old Gamaliet Figueroa pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Figueroa was on probation for distributing heroin when his probation officer saw pictures of him with a rifle and handgun on MySpace in April 2007. Officers searched his home and found a semi-automatic rifle loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition.
A date for sentencing hasn't been set. Figueroa faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
