Although fireworks are illegal in Omaha, it's no secret many people have them. For those who want to get rid of them, local fire departments are planning an amnesty day next Saturday, July 11th.

There will be three amnesty sites around the metro open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The old Skateland at 99th and Blair High Road, Seymour Smith Park near 72nd and Harrison and the former No Frills Supermarket location at 28th and Broadway in Council Bluffs.

Not only are fireworks accepted, so are ammunition and guns.
