The largest single project mural in the United States was unveiled Wednesday night, and it's right here in Omaha. The piece is titled "Fertile Ground" and is on the side of the Energy Systems Plant building at 13th & Webster.

The artist, Meg Saligman, is a world-renowned muralist from Philadelphia. She said the piece represents the endless possibilities and potential Omaha holds.

Saligman and her crew of ten artists finished the project Wednesday afternoon. She said the end of the work in Omaha is bittersweet.

"It's a great part of my job, is you can look at what you did and it's so tangible, and so it's a wonderful feeling, and there's another part that's a little sad, we were up on the scaffolding today and we're saying you know how many times are we going to have that big of a painting to paint?"

The mural took more than two years to complete. The project is a partnership with the Peter Kiewit Foundation.
