A 51-year-old North Platte man charged with the death and dismemberment of Vicki Soto has pleaded guilty.
Daniel Losinger pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a felony weapons charge in the December 2001 death of Soto who was eight months pregnant at the time.
Before pleading, Losinger was set to go to trial next week in Kearney. That after Lincoln County District Judge John Murphy ruled in July to move the trial to Buffalo County because of extensive pretrial publicity.
Murphy accepted Losinger's pleas Thursday in North Platte. He set sentencing for next month.
County Attorney Jeff Meyer says he had been ready to go to trial. He says he accepted the deal after getting the consent of the Soto family.
