Eastern Nebraska can expect to feel a bit uncomfortable this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Monday as the temperatures are expected to hover in the 90s from Norfolk down to Falls City and points east. Add in some extra humidity thanks to trapped low-level moisture, it could feel like it's over 100 degrees.

The weather service says the worst of it could be along and south of Columbus and toward the Iowa state line.

The heat advisory takes effect Monday at 1 p.m. CDT and will remain in place until 7 p.m.

People are advised to stay in air conditioning if they can and to drink plenty of fluids.

Forecasters say the conditions aren't expected to let up anytime soon.
