A campaign to urge Nebraskans to report underage drinkers is working. 203 calls have come in during the first five months.

It's a statewide, toll-free underage drinking tip line.

"Nebraskans appear to have responded impressively to the media awareness effort," said Fred Zwonechek of the sponsoring Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.

During the first three months of 2009, a total of 61 calls were made to the tip line to report underage drinking.

59 calls were made in April.

83 calls were made in May.

The most highly publicized example of the tip line being put to use occurred in April in Sarpy County.

Law Enforcement broke up a large, underage drinking party in Papillion after several adults called the tip line.
