Authorities say no one was injured when a tornado slammed into a campground and destroyed five camping trailers at a park in northern Linn County, Iowa on Sunday.

The tornado hit Pinicon Park shortly before 5 p.m. Dennis Goematt of Linn County Conservation says the campers had either left the park to go to dinner or sought shelter in a block building.

He says there were about 10 trailers in the campground when the twister cut a path down the middle of it. Trailers on either side were largely undamaged, but those in the middle were destroyed.

Linn County emergency coordinator Mike Goldberg says the tornado also damaged homes and outbuildings north of the Cedar Rapids area, but no injuries were reported.

Two other possible tornadoes touched down in Delaware and Dubuque counties, but no one was hurt.
